THE STORY

It was in the late 1980s that Piero Peppucci and Luisa Giontella, in search of a place in the Todi countryside where they could raise their children Elisabetta and Filippo, and soon after Agnese, in close contact with nature, almost by chance came upon Sant’Antimo.

Although completely abandoned, the monastery—built by Benedictine monks of the Vallombrosan congregation around the first half of the 13th century—still retained all of its charm. It is no coincidence that Renzo Pardi, in his book “Ricerche di Architettura Religiosa Medioevale in Umbria”, described it as one of the most fascinating and interesting sites in all Umbrian medieval architecture.

From that moment on, all their efforts were dedicated to bringing that marvel back to life—first making it their home and then, with the acquisition of the surrounding lands, turning it into the center of a new and greater adventure: producing their wines here.

New vineyards were then planted, selecting the finest native varieties such as Grechetto di Todi, Sagrantino, and Sangiovese, along with international varieties like Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.

In 2010, the construction of the new winery was completed, allowing for an even higher level of quality in the wines produced—a place not only to work at the highest standards but also to welcome enthusiasts and share everything that makes Peppucci wines what they are.

A story of love, patience, and dedication that has involved the entire family over the years, and which today is embodied by Filippo Peppucci, who oversees every aspect of the estate, from production to commercialization.
